I am currently employed by Randstad in Ohio about to hit 90 days. I really havent had any problems with them.

Yet. I say yet because of their attendance point system. As I understand it unless you are there everyday on time for your whole shift you can lose anywhere from 1/2 a point to like 3 or 4 points(no call no show, which I understand and dont argue with). But here is where everything gets ugly amd fuzzy: if you are late or leave early you lose 1/2 a point.

A Drs Appt with a note from said Dr is still 1/2 a point lost. I am prescribed a controlled substance that requires an in person visit at least every 3 mo or no medication. Since they scheduled me M-F 7:30am-4pm I have no choice but to make my appts during work. I do what I can to make the appts as close to quitting time so I dont miss a lot of time or inconvenience the people I work with.

The assignment I am on is for 1 yr. So in that yr I will lose 2 full points just for ensuring I get the medication I need to come to work. 2 points isnt a big deal right? Well if you only get 7 in a yr(not a calendar yr, 365 days from day 1 of the assignment) thats a big deal.

Not to mention my 4yr old son will be having surgery in the next month or 2. That will be a full point lost. I volunteer for OT(which Randstad makes $9 an hour for ME working) and I recently had to walk 30 min in the snow at 4:30am to work and because the streets and sidewalks had not been plowed made me 3min late. Thats another 1/2 point.

I bust my *** everyday. But because I have normal things happen I will end up "pointing out" or getting fired from this assignment. This means Randstad will call me and tell me my assignment is over. Not the actual company I report to everyday.

But if I wait 1 week and my company wants me back I can reapply. What kind of crap is that? Dont they get paid if I am working? It makes me wonder what kind of "new employee" bonus they get every time they send someone out to a job, even if that employee isnt really new.

So I was trying to find the exact info on these points in the electronic paperwork I initially signed....after going back thru every email and link I was sent I found nothing. Then I thoroughly searched the handbook on the website.....nothing. So you can enforce something that I never signed or printed in your handbook or website? And I do know for 100% it is something that is only enforced when a Randstad employee chooses.

I have watched people in the last 90 that started after I did technically point out but are still there working beside me. I am already looking for another agency and job because I dont want to leave my livelihood in their hands.
